The cabins on royal princess are generally smaller than you find on older princess ships with noticeably smaller balconies. We were in e729 in april and between the covering of oily soot every morning on the balcony and the lack of shade and the smoking area on promenade deck right below us i would not book this cabin or quite frankly any other cabin on royal princess again.

Again its sheer speculation but i cannot help but notice the similarity between the space visible in the pictures of the vent area on the grand class ships and the similar space between the aft balcony cabins on the royal princess.
